AUDIOBOOKS

I got a big, fat radio for my birthday when I was ten years old. I would lose my emptiness listening to it under my pillow as I fell asleep every night. It was a tonic. Classic rock. EG Marshall. Pentecostal Bible Ministers. (Over the years of doing voiceover, Sound Engineers have consistently commented on my acute sense of timing. I’m pretty sure that this is where it came from). Beyond this AM/FM osmosis, I received formal training at The Children’s Theatre School, the University of Minnesota (BFA Acting Program) and American Conservatory Theatre (MFA Acting Program).

I have enjoyed a very robust commercial VO career with a broad range of assignments. And for this I have been truly grateful (kept the kids in socks and underpants for years). But for some unknown reason, audiobooks have been an elusive addition in my career portfolio. Which is ironic, because as an early and passionate reader, I really only became an actor because of my love of a good story. One of my greatest pleasures in life has been to read aloud. I read an hour daily to my three children and also weekly to area classrooms. Sometimes to as many as eleven classrooms a week for over twenty years. So, you can imagine what a thrill it is to finally be able to record audiobooks. Well, you don’t have to imagine! All you have to do is listen to my demos or download any of my work.
